Food, coffee and drinks!
Uncle Bobbie’s coffee & Books is a neighborhood favorite. Run and operated by locals it gives the neighborhood a place to go and learn, relax, get work done, and eat delicious sandwiches. There is always great music playing so you can sip on your coffee and gander at the collection of books they have displayed all over the shop. The establishment is decorated not only in books but in glossed pages hanging from the ceiling. This place is a must to get to know the current Germantown and it’s close to so many other historical places in the area! The People’s Education Center right next door offers workshops and wellness services so be sure to check out what they have to offer during your stay.
After you grab a coffee from Uncle Bobbie’s

Stop by the Historical Society, behind the plaza next to Bobbie’s, or take a walk through the “Lest we forget museum of slavery”. They are open specific days and times to be sure to check out their general information here. Further down the road there are two other museum’s worth checking out. The “Aces Museum” honoring our veterans and The “Black writers museum” all located on germantown ave. If a nice walk and perhaps bird watching are something you want to do in-between your adventures

Vernon Park is a large, beautiful, well maintained park in germantown. Complete with a nice walk way, a large children’s play ground, a bird watching area, and a picnic area. There is something here for anyone that wants a bit of nature. They also have event’s such as, “The Jazz Festival”. There is always something going on so be sure to check it out while you’re here!
