Check-in Instructions for the King Suite (Room 201)

We are at 107 W School House Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19144, and it's a yellow front house immediately after the Maplewood Nursing Home. There is free street parking on School House Ln across from the house. When you arrive, walk up the small set of stairs or driveway to the side porch (visible from the street) and enter the house at that door. You'll know you're at the right door when you see our mailbox with gold "107" numbers to the right of the door and "The James Matthews House" sign on the left. Open the screen door to access the keypad on the main door.

Enter your door code (sent separately) on the keypad to unlock the door. Please press the padlock icon on the keypad to lock the door whenever you leave the house. Please note the door is set to auto-lock after a few minutes - something to be aware of if you are walking outside for any reason.

Our King suite is room 201, and this is how you can find it once you enter the door into the dining room:

Come in the door, take the first doorway on the right (it's open while the other possible door is shut), walk through the living room to the stairs. Walk up the stairs, turn left and up the small set of stairs to the left (still on the 2nd floor but there are two hallways), walk to the end of the hallway and 201 is on the left and marked with a sign. The room key will be in the door. Clean towels are in the room - let us know if you need more towels during your stay (or you can grab more from the basket outside the hall bath next to the stairs to the 3rd floor). There is a mini-fridge in the hall outside your door that is for guest use - it's a shared amenity, so other guests may be using it too.

The dining room where you enter the house is where we have grab and go breakfast. There is a microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffee station, tea (including a hot water machine), as well as a variety of items like breakfast bars, instant oatmeal, and snacks that aren't just breakfast. The mini-fridge in the dining room is stocked with yogurt, drinks, and usually a few other items for guests. Sometimes guests will store personal items in here, but everything we provide for guests is individually packaged, so we've never had any confusion.
